Genetic and prenatal tests may only be performed when the person concerned has been provided with adequate information about the testing and has freely and expressly consented.

The person concerned may withdraw his or her consent at any time.

If the person concerned is incapable of judgement, then the consent is required from his or her legal representative.

Persons incapable of judgement are to be included as far as possible in the information, counselling and consent procedures.
